Changing Career
Beginning a new career path has the potential to be an exciting and eye-opening experience; it can help you finally reach your full potential. However, as changing careers is a major decision to make, you have to seriously assess and evaluate the opportunities and possibilites before taking action.
First, you need to establish why a change of career is necessary. There may be any number of reasons, not limited to poor relations with your employer or manager, poor promotion prospects, or just boredom. Should the problem be solvable, then you should do all that you can to do so, maybe switching to a different department, or taking up a position at a new company in the same industry; if not, a change of career is a step that is needed for you progress both personally and in a professional capacity.
Conducting an assessment of yourself is the next step. Assess your interests, skills and experience in reference to what you have done in the past, both at work and in your own time. Analyze your likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses, and areas of interest. Doing so will help you to discover what exactly it is that you want to do and achieve next.
List potential careers based on your desires and skills. Seek advice from family and friends, and also be sure to speak with a professional career advisor. Narrow the list of possibilities down to just a few and start researching them online. Weigh up the pros and cons of each of the careers on your list, and take a few days, or even longer, to come to a final decision.
Finally, you will need to map out a detailed plan of action and set achievable and measurable objectives. Remember that a change of career requires patience; it sometimes takes a great deal of time to follow through with. Still, determination, hard work and adherence to your specified plan will ultimately see you succeed.

Telecommuting Positions Can Be Discovered In Some Field of Jobs
Telecommuting positions have become quite popular amongst many who wish to set their own work hours and be their own boss. These positions refer to employment types where one can work from home or any other location of your preference, and communicate with the office or your employer via telephone calls, fax messages, email messages or any other communication method facilitated by technology. This also means that you may have not even seen your employer’s face and many a times, the company may be located thousands of miles away. Even so, you still get paid according to the agreement you have with your employer.
Just like traditional employment positions, telecommuting positions are not too hard to come by if you have the right qualifications. Internet is the main form of advertising used by companies looking for telecommuters. Though telecommuting is more suitable for computer programming and writing professions, telecommuting positions can be found in many fields including research, customer service, journalism, marketing and accounting. Some of the latest areas to use telecommuters are those dealing with data entry operators and home based customer service representatives.
Telecommuting positions can differ according to the industry you are working for. Some do not require you to even see your employer or the office you work for. You will not be expected to visit the company at any point of time.
Some other telecommuting positions have opportunities that require you to work from home, you never really see your employer, but, you may need to go out of your home to complete certain job related tasks. There may also be companies where you will have to visit occasionally in order to sit in on meetings or to attend important functions.
Be on the alert always to check if the company you work for is legal. The internet is filled with ‘work at home’ scams and ‘get rich quick’ schemes. The best way to identify a scam from a legitimate telecommuting position is to read the taglines carefully. Legitimate telecommuting positions clearly lay out the particulars of the position and the recruiters will be willing to share with you detailed information about the business, the job tasks, job responsibilities, the pay rate and the time commitment involved.
If the company sounds more like one that sounds too good to be true, then it probably is just that. Knowing the history of the company before signing a contract is very important when securing telecommuting positions.
