How To Write Cover Letter Samples

Jobs by Careerjet

You may already have one sample cover letter but it is a good idea to put together a few different cover letters samples. When you have more than one sample to choose from it is easier to apply for job openings quickly. It is a good idea to have a sample for a couple of situations so you are ready for anything. You will still have to tweak each sample at least slightly before you apply for a job. However, you will have to do much less tweaking if you have a number of different samples representing a few different scenarios.  Knowing where to find cover letters samples is the key.

When writing your cover letters samples be sure to write one for a position on par with your current job as well as one for a position which would be an upward move for you.Although you may think it is not something you want to consider, you should also create a sample for jobs below your current position. This way you are ready for any type of position that comes along. The first sample you create should be one for a job similar to your current job and this sample should demonstrate your duties and responsibilities.Take some time to ensure this sample adequately describes the type of work you do.This is not the time to include descriptions of duties you perform which should be done by someone in a lower position.

Cover letters samples for higher ranking positions are a little bit harder to write but they should demonstrate how you are currently performing above your current job level and the skills you have which are not being utilized properly.Including this information should help to make it clear you are ready to take on more responsibility.

Finally, it is worthwhile to have a sample of a cover letter for a position you are slightly overqualified for.Ideally you will always be moving up in your career but sometimes a downward move may be necessary. This lesser position at another company may pay more than your current position or difficult economic times may force you to consider less favorable options.
