I find that they rarely look at the objective. It is the cover letter that needs to be as catchy as possible. If they like it, they go on to read your resume and call you in.

There is no reason to have an objective on your resume.

In my field I go through a lot of resumes and “objectives” are no longer necessary. In fact when I am teaching students about writing their resumes, I tell them to leave off the objective all together. Why? The reason is because the employers you are handing your resume to already knows that your objective is to get the job they are offering through your cover letter or job application. A good rule of thumb is to always include a cover letter unless they tell you not to. The cover letter is all they need to understand why you want the job and what reasons they should hire you. Also, your resume should be updated a least once a month…not annually!

Your objective should be personal. You should live it or have the ability to live it. So I suggest checking out some of the resources already mentioned, but really spend the time to figure out WHAT YOU WANT — that’s really what your objective is.

I might suggest you should really work on your cover letter. As an employer and hiring manager, the cover letter catches my attention faster than anything. In the cover letter, you should highlight your skills and competencies that directly relate to the requirements of a position you are seeking. Also, you should show that you did your homework on the company, without going overboard.

I recently wrote a cover letter for my sister, and it made her sound awesome! She was even impressed! So think like an employer, and think about what they are looking for, and then sell yourself in a way that would motivate “you call you” in for an interview.

The best thing is, the homework and self-reflection you did on the objective will shine through in the interview.

Not knowing what you are looking for I can give you a couple of tips to revamp your resume.
Resumes should be a max of 2 pages long, they should have lots of white space and be printed on top quality paper.
they should be consise, and reflect your experience regarding tasks that are desired by any employer.. things like motivated, dedicated, energetic, adaptable, creative etc.
