A typical resume begins with an Objective, speaks about Work Experience/ Key qualifications, Education, Other Interests and References.

The objective section is crucial to sustain interest. Therefore it should be concise, clear and make sense to the employer. It should ideally have a summary of your skills – highlighting key areas of expertise. With a single glance at this portion, the reader should be able to gather what you can bring to the table.

Under Work Experience, you can give a bulleted list and below each a brief description of what abilities you demonstrated during that period and the corresponding achievements. You can also mention Key Qualifications like any special certifications, awards etc that you earned. You can sell your skills better by using action verbs in this section.

After this the Education section should talk about your basic school/ college education which will give an idea of your being a consistent performer. A reference section to previous employers/ managers can serve to bring instant trust on you.
